The story: "Survivor" isn't just a television show. Imagine living in a grass hut without electricity, internet, phone, and television, just a town radio playing a horrible and boring rotation of "Top 40" hits for years! This was Ngaiire's lot in Papua New Guinea until she moved to Lismore at the age of 16, and met Sarah Vaughn and Jeff Buckley, who have since helped her shape her music. The soulful singer then had a few years of studying Jazz at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Mackay, until something called her to Sydney , where she has been recording and performing, gearing up for a debut album in 2011.
Being previously recognized as one of Rolling Stone's artists to look out for (along with Lenka, Faker, Holly Throsby and TZU) has only propelled Ngaiire, who, as we wait for a compilation, holds her credibility in her rare and golden mp3's.

Coloring outside the lines because.... of celestial and soulful harmonies and a rasp, sharp (referring to voice clarity) vocals, with reflective yet uplifting, meditative qualities; surprisingly and consistently holding attention with basic acoustics.
Think: Playback for a day at the park, or for reveling in the beauty of nature; soundtrack to a modern-day Pretty in Pink, with an unorthodox teenager protagonist princess trying to find her soul; Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland sans the Avril track, but not the Converse.
