Simon, Itai Shapira, and Adam Berg remix old 60's and 70's soul classics into new genres, and it sounds oh so good. Right on the cusp of their release of their upcoming album, "Adventures From Paradise: A Tribute To Minnie Ripperton," they have joined together with the Bay Area's own Mara Hruby and the sultry, raspy, and grainy voice of Van Hunt for a cover of Aretha Franklin's "Respect" that's sure to settle all nerves. VIDEO: JANELLE MONÁE AND KIMBRA PRESENT THE "GOLDEN ELECTRIC TOUR"



Gotta love the feel of this video! Janelle Monáe and Kimbra are going on the "Golden Electric Tour" together in Australia and New Zealand in May, and they put together this performance with their live band to promote it. They go through old classics like Aretha Franklin's "Rock Steady" and Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" with ease. If their matching houndstooth outfits aren't the cutest, their dope arrangement is.--GB

NEW SONG: BIRDY, "NOT ABOUT ANGELS"


Birdy has just released a beautiful new tune called "Not About Angels." The song can be found in the upcoming summer flick The Fault In Our Stars

Originally a book written by John Green, the tale follows two kids who meet up at a cancer support group and fall in love. The New York Times Bestseller is a highly anticipated movie, which is set to drop this June at a theater near you.

As for Birdy, she is on tour this month with Christina Perri, and her sophomore album, Fire Within, is out June 3 in the states.--GB
