Name: Luke Christopher
 Locality: San Fernando Valley, California
Color: Bark- stable; rooted, expansion of its rings in time.

The Story: Luke Christopher cultivated the love of rap growing up in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California. Though his father grew him up on the greats of the 80’s and 90’s, such as Elton John, U2, Stevie Wonder and the great MJ, Luke Christopher was more persuaded by music when Tupac's All Eyez on Me landed underneath his Christmas tree.

Setting up a makeshift studio in the bottom of his bunk bed, he self-taught rapping, singing, and production. Before becoming legal, he had his sound covered and ready for takeoff. Supported by Yesi Ortiz and DJ Felli Fel from Power 106, he had early buzz. Rapper/actor Common dropped in on Luke’s independent single “Sex With You,” and the uprise caught the attention of Mark Pitts of Bystorm, to which he is now signed.

His Tmrw Tmrw mixtapes demand other rappers to get on his level. For example, from the second installment, take “Ms Holy Water.” It’s a melodic metaphor with smooth vocals and sly wordplay on the one Luke adores. Then there’s “Energy,” a dope 90’s throwback, and “Million More,” a little diddy that could even make Ye' do adouble take.

Coloring Outside the Lines Because:
What makes a good lyricist these days? A crisp clean delivery and non-redundant wordplay, and saying what hasn’t been said in a way that needs to be heard; by doing so, the wordsmith expresses our own wonders and thoughts back at us.

Luke doesn’t sound like he’s finding his voice. His music says “Here I am” with natural star quality. From fun and whimsical, to deep, to uplifting, to interpersonal, the gamut of his rapping subject is well-rounded. A rapper who can sing as well as he can rap, and produce as well as the formers? “Multifaceted” just doesn’t cut it.

Think: Generation Y; Jay and Kanye meets Tribe Called Quest; work-play balance; "I'm not a businessman I'm a business, man…."
