Guess what NYC! There are SUMMER CONCERTS stirring in your area! Oh, did I mention FREE? And did I mention the greatest city in the world? Ok, I'm biased.
Here is a cool little rundown of the highlights of what is going on this summer from the ones that are dear enough to bring you free summer concerts in NYC--City Parks Foundation, Summerstage, Afropunk, Celebrate Brooklyn!, Good Morning America, MLK Concert Series, and the Today Show. Also, this will be the ever updating post...for I will add more when I find more.
And stay tuned for more summer show rundowns if you aren't from the Big Apple.
Remember this:
-Get there early if you want good standing space. Or sometimes, if you want to get in at all! Use your discretion depending on the artist. An hour early is usually the minimum time to arrive.
-Bring a blanket/towel/folding chair/water/food if outdoors
-Get your best camera out...you'll have YouTube friendly spots to get close throughout the performance. (MLK says No to this one. We say, free the people.)
-Check the weather forecast before you go, and the website/twitter for cancellations and changes.
AND HAVE FUN!!!
